For Immediate Release Podcast- By: Hobson and Holtz (February 1st, 2010 Podcast by Shel Holtz and Neville Hobson)

AP Style Book

After listening to the podcast by Hobson and Holtz, I learned a lot about the AP Style Guide. It contains the rules for consistency in newsprint. The AP Style Guide is the leading style guide in the U.S. There are also different style guides out there such as New York, Chicago, and Words into Print. Different newspapers have their own style guides and follow their own when it comes to writing. It’s also not as important as it used to be since so many different versions are out there. I was surprised to learn that there were so many different guides and I was also surprised to hear that you’re more likely to get your article published if it’s as close to print release ready. I would really like to learn more about the different style guides used. And how I can find out which newspaper’s use which style guides.
