Community Relations

  • Community Relations is the strategic development of mutually beneficial relationships with targeted communities toward the long-term objective of building reputation and trust.
  • Joe Hardy wrote a list of relationship building principles which include being involved and being committed, choosing the right projects, and making things right as fast as you can when things go wrong.
  • There are 12 commonly used trust-busting behaviors that people use. The chapter said by avoiding these you can “keep community, trust, and credibility. “
  • In addition to trust-busting behaviors, there is a list of best practices to use in community relations which will help build community and keep it.
